Last week to finish up our People All Around, People Up and Down theme, we read the story about A Chair for My Mother by Vera B. Williams. We discussed why it was so important for mom to have a nice chair, showing evidence of how she didn’t have a nice place to sit and relax after a long day at the diner.
Students created an art project showing if they were to save up money for something, what would they get for their mother instead of a chair. Many students picked a bed, some students picked a ring or jewelry.
